APRN Compact Timeline
North Dakota - First State
North Dakota becomes the first state to enact the APRN Compact (August 2020).
Delaware Joins
Delaware becomes the second state to enact the compact.
Utah Enacts
Utah becomes the third state, building momentum for the compact.
Wyoming Joins
Wyoming enacts the APRN Compact, now 4 states toward the 7-state threshold.
South Dakota - Fifth State
South Dakota brings the count to 5 states. Only 2 more needed for activation.
Projected Activation
When 2 more states enact the compact, implementation will begin. Expected activation in late 2026 or 2027.
What is the APRN Compact?
The APRN Compact allows advanced practice nurses (NPs, CNMs, CRNAs, CNSs) to have one multistate license to practice in their home state and other member states.
