Certification
AMCB Certification
CNMs must be certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Certification requires graduation from an accredited midwifery program and passing the national certification exam.
Prerequisites
To become a Certified Nurse Midwife, you must first hold an active RN license and complete a graduate-level nurse-midwifery program accredited by ACME. Most programs require clinical experience as an RN, particularly in maternal-child nursing or women's health.
