CRNA: state has NOT opted out of the CMS Medicare physician-supervision requirement; physician supervision is required for CRNA anesthesia services under Medicare. State scope may differ.

Prescriptive Authority: La. R.S. 37:930(F): CRNA is NOT required to have a collaborative practice agreement or prescriptive authority for anesthesia care; anesthesia is provided under the direction and supervision of a physician or dentist (also 37:930(A)(3)). No independent CRNA prescriptive authority.
