This site helps you understand nursing licensure—but it's not a substitute for checking with your state board directly.

About Our Information

We do our best to keep things accurate, but nursing regulations change constantly. Fees go up. Application processes get revised. New compact states join. We update our content regularly, but there's always a lag between when a state makes a change and when we catch it.

The bottom line: use this site as a starting point, not the final word.

What This Site Isn't

We're a resource, not an authority. Specifically, nothing here counts as:

  • Legal advice — we're not lawyers
  • Official licensing guidance — we're not a state board
  • Medical advice — obviously
  • Job guarantees — we can't promise employment outcomes

For anything important—especially if your license or livelihood is on the line—talk to the actual professionals.

Always Double-Check with Your State Board

This is the most important thing on this page: before you submit an application, pay a fee, or make a decision about your nursing career, verify everything with your state nursing board.

They're the ones who actually issue licenses. We just try to make their requirements easier to understand.

We link to official state board websites throughout the site. Those links are there to help you find the real source.

Links and Affiliates

We link to a lot of outside resources: state boards, NCLEX prep courses, CE providers, background check services. Some of those are affiliate links—if you buy through them, we might earn a small commission. It doesn't cost you extra.

We only link to things we'd actually recommend. That said, we can't vouch for every product or service once you leave our site.

Liability

We can't be held responsible if:

  • You relied on outdated information here
  • A state changed requirements after we published
  • A decision based on our content didn't work out
  • A third-party product or service disappointed you

We're doing our best to help, but the responsibility for your licensing decisions is ultimately yours.
